sundance canyonSundance Canyon - Medium Rainforest - (Fresh, very bright, nutty, citrus)
The trail to Sundance Canyon begins right beside the Cave and Basin site, which is the historical site of the discovery of Banff Hot Springs, which led to the creation of Canada’s National Park system in the 1880s. Today, many people bike or walk to the canyon on the paved trail (or cross country ski during the winter) enjoying views of the rugged peaks to the north, including the distinctive spire of Mount Edith, all the while breathing fresh, crisp Mountain air. Sundance Canyon Medium blend of a Mexican and South American beans delicately roasted to show a bright and citrusy palate with soft nutty undertones. A wonderful breakfast cup to get you going!

sleeping buffaloSleeping Buffalo - Medium / Dark Rainforest - (Complex, Mocha notes and the Perfect (we think) Body) Sleeping Buffalo was the original name for Tunnel Mountain that graces the Banff town site. The railway had planned to burrow a tunnel through but changed their minds... but not the name!  As with this roast, we also changed it’s original name but not its perfect blend! Sleeping Buffalo Medium/Dark is a blend of 2 South American and 1 Mexican bean, displaying a very pleasing body with several levels of flavour including almond and a sweet chocolate aroma. A real favorite!

bill peytoPeyto’s Brew - Medium / Dark Rainforest - (Fuller body, nutty notes with a slap of bright acidity) Ebenezer William “Bill” Peyto arrived in Banff February, 1887. He was a pioneer, mountain guide, and early park warden of the Banff National Park from 1913 until his retirement in 1936. His large photograph prominently marks the entrance to the town of Banff, Alberta. Walter Wilcox wrote of Bill Peyto, “Bill is very quiet in civilization, but becomes more communicative around an evening campfire, when he delights to tell his adventures. Peyto’s Brew Medium/Dark is the “livelier” of our Med/Dark roasts, focusing on 2 South American beans for a little more vigor and energy. Hints of Mocha with hazelnut aromas.

bear 64Bear 64 - Dark Organic - (Full bodied and sweet with a soft palate. We keep a hint of acidity for freshness) There is no other bear more celebrated or protected in the park than “Bear 64”, who is revered for being a good resident of the park, living on the outskirts of town but never getting into trouble. She is also known for breeding a strong group of young grizzlies, passing on her important knowledge of how to live in harmony with the human population. Bear 64 Dark roast is the blend of 4 beans, Indonesia, Mexico, Brazil & Colombia, all in harmony, giving depth, body, flavour and a touch of brightness not often found in dark roasts. Caramel, spice and mocha are it’s signature.

reverend rundleMt Rundle Roast - Espresso/Organic - (An extremely well balanced blend that flies well solo or blended with “Moo Juice”) Reverend Robert Terrill Rundle, a self described “radical”, most noteworthy activities relate to his missionary work in Western Canada between 1840 and 1848. His mission in Pigeon Lake served the Cree, Stoney, and Blackfoot peoples of pre-Alberta, instructing them not only in Christianity, but in reading and writing in syllabics, and growing crops. Rundle was also known for his extensive travels in Western Canada having never let the harsh winters deter him. Mt. Rundle Roast Espresso is our “radical”. Four different beans, varying roasts and quantities blended to give extraordinary aroma, body and flavour, our signature. Spice, semi-sweet chocolate with honey notes. It also makes a great drip coffee!

Howling WolfHowling Wolf - Medium/Dark Organic - (Medium/full body and bright, fresh acids)
The majestic wolf has been sought after by many, hunter to photographer. Catching a glimpse of this elusive animal is a reward in itself. This medium dark blend was elusive too, until we nailed it with the exact proportions of beans, after many cuppings! Howling Wolf Medium/Dark is a blend of a Mexican and South American beans giving it a solid backbone but with delicate chocolate notes and a fresh mouth feel.

great divideGreat Divide Swiss Water Decaf - Dark/Organic - (Smooth and full. You would never think it’s decaf.) The Great Divide is the mountainous, hydrological divide of the Americas. It generally follows the spine of the Rockies from the Bering Strait to the Magellan Strait. Depending on which side of this divide rain falls, it will either end up in the Pacific or Atlantic ocean via a system of rivers. In Banff National Park you can experience the “Divide” by skiing it at a local ski area or at the “Point of Interest” stop on Highway 93 heading west from Banff.

Our Great Divide is for those divided between enjoying a great cup of coffee but don’t want the caffeine. We use the highest quality bean we can source and then skillfully roast it! Full bodied and flavorful, you would not guess you are enjoying a decaffeinated coffee, so need to feel divided!
